Ike, Day 3

Monday, 9AM. I’m at work, where there is power. When I go home this evening, my laptop will be charged.

At this hour, we still have no power at home. We do have water for flushing the toilets for probably another day. We can go over to my son’s house to shower this evening if necessary; they’re on city water, and their power came back on yesterday evening.

It’s difficult to sleep in the heat, but around midnight it cools off enough to let us sleep. No serious problems. It’s about like camping out, but getting to sleep in our own bed.

I really feel for those people south of us, though. If it’s like this here, it’s got to be worse as you proceed south.
