Ike, Day 5

Day 5 is starting out pretty good for us. Our power came back on about 9:15 PM last night. We did a little dance, turned off the Coleman lantern, adjusted all the various lights and thermostat, and watched the news for a bit.

Now all we have to do is catch up on laundry, store all the water jugs, and buy groceries to replace what was lost in the freezer and refrigerator.

I actually had coffee before going to work this morning. For us, life is back to normal. But we’re 200 miles from the coast; I think there are people to the south for whom it will be a long time before they get back to normal. Let’s don’t forget them.
